Two things happen in this section. Founders recruit people to try an unfinished product, and founders trade reviews with each other.
Recruiting testers? Start the title with [Testers wanted] and include:
- What the product does and who it is for
- What stage it is at and what is known to be broken
- Who you want: the kind of person, and how many
- What you want them to do, and how long it will take
- What they get: free access, a discount, your thanks
- How to join
- How to report back
Offering a swap? Start the title with [Swap] and include:
- Your product and what you want reviewed
- What you are good at reviewing in return
- How much time you are offering
House rules
- Finish what you start. If you accept a swap, deliver your half.
- Be specific and honest. A swap of compliments helps nobody.
- No trading of public ratings. Do not exchange reviews on app stores, directories or review sites. It breaks their rules and misleads buyers.
- Testers: report what you actually did and saw, including where you gave up.
- Founders: thank your testers and tell them what you changed.
