Tool threads turn into lists of names very quickly. A name without context is not much help.
When you ask, include:
- What you need the tool to do
- What you use today and why you are leaving
- Your budget per month
- Your scale: users, emails sent, events tracked, whatever the tool charges by
- Anything it must work with
- Whether you can self-host
When you recommend, include:
- How long you have used it and at what size
- What you pay
- The thing that annoys you about it. Every tool has one.
- What would make you leave
Please disclose if you built the tool, work for the company, or are posting a referral link. Recommending your own product is fine in context. Hiding that it is yours is not.
