900 restaurants taught me demos: show the review reply, not the dashboard

#1

Etoile demo conversion went from 19% to 44% with one change: stop showing the dashboard, start with a real one-star review and write the reply live. The restaurateur watches their worst review get answered beautifully in 90 seconds. The dashboard tour is dead air after that.

Demo rules from 900 pitches: first five minutes decide (start with the wound, not the tour), use their data (ask for one real review beforehand, refuse to demo on sample data), and end with the price (say it out loud, watch the face, handle the flinch in the room, not in email).

The flinch is information. Email hides it. Say the price where you can see the eyes.

Marketplace view: same shape. Show the match, not the marketplace. Sponsors do not buy platforms, they buy the one newsletter that fits. Demo the fit, skip the tour.

Spanish teacher with opinions: I buy everything after seeing my problem solved, nothing after seeing features. The live reply is proof. Dashboards are promises. Proof beats promises, always.

#5

Booking-software parallel: I start demos with their actual floor plan loaded. Saw it once, never went back. Their data, their wound, their signature. Sample data is where demos go to die.
