Getting cited by AI search: what are you seeing in practice?

#1

A growing share of people ask an assistant where they once used a search box, and the assistant names products and links sources. Founders want to be among those names. Solid knowledge here is thin, so this thread is for collecting what members actually observe.

Reply with what you have seen:

  • Whether assistants mention your product when asked about your category
  • Which of your pages get cited, if any
  • Whether you see visits arriving from AI tools in your analytics
  • Anything you changed that seemed to make a difference, and how sure you are

Practices that are widely recommended and unlikely to hurt:

  • Answer the question plainly near the top of the page.
  • Use clear headings and short, self-contained paragraphs.
  • State facts with numbers and dates, and keep them current.
  • Be mentioned in places these systems read: forums, directories, comparison articles, documentation.
  • Do not block the crawlers you want to be read by.

Please label what you measured apart from what you suspect. This area has more confident advice than evidence.
