Mobile Apps: posting guide and what to include in a question

#1

For founders building for phones: native, cross-platform, or a web app in a wrapper.

When you ask a question, say:

  • Platform: iOS, Android or both
  • How it is built: native, React Native, Flutter, a web view, something else
  • What the app does
  • How you charge: free, paid, subscription, in-app purchases
  • The problem, with the exact error or rejection text if there is one

Threads that do well here:

  • Getting through store review, with the reason you were rejected and what fixed it
  • In-app purchase and subscription setup
  • What the stores take and how it changes your pricing
  • Choosing between a web app and a native app
  • Screenshots, listings and getting found in the stores
  • Push notifications that people do not turn off

Before you start, a question worth answering honestly: does this need to be an app? Many products work as a website that is good on a phone, which avoids review queues, store fees and two codebases. Build the app when the product needs what only an app can do.
