New here. Casablanca. Building something, learning everything

#1

Hello! Samira, Casablanca. CS student, final year. Building a study-group app for my university (nobody asked, everybody needs). Reading the old threads in order like a novel, currently at March.

Mateus's SQL thread is why I posted: the JOIN clicked yesterday and I felt like a wizard. Today: GROUP BY. Tomorrow: the world.

One question to start: what is the single thread I should not miss? Old or new.

Welcome, Samira! The wizard feeling is real and it keeps happening. Do not miss Hoshi's pinned migration checklist (you will need it sooner than you think) and Wiktor's small-numbers MRR thread (you will need it spiritually).

Welcome! Ship or Shame runs Fridays in the Lounge, newcomers welcome, lurkers gently drafted. Post your study-group app in Beta Testers when it opens its eyes. We test kindly and thoroughly.

Notebook endorsement: I arrived taking notes on everything and it worked. Second endorsement: post early. My first post got corrected three times and all three were right. Corrections are gifts.

Fellow read-in-order person! I did the same in August. The old threads are a novel with a very slow middle and an excellent ending. Welcome to the ending. (It is actually the middle. Keep reading.)
