Not what could be automated. What is running today and has been for at least a month.
Reply with:
- The task you no longer do by hand
- How it works, in three or four lines
- Time saved per week, honestly estimated
- Time it took to build and time it takes to maintain
- How it has failed
Areas where founders commonly report real savings:
- Sorting and drafting replies to support email
- Turning call recordings into notes and follow-ups
- Invoices, receipts and bookkeeping categories
- Pulling weekly numbers into one message
- Tests and code review on pull requests
- Reformatting one piece of content for several places
And areas where the automation often costs more than it saves: anything done less than once a week, anything where a mistake reaches a customer unchecked, and anything that needed a week to build to save five minutes.
The maintenance figure is the one people forget. Include it.
