Retention is the whole game. Lagos, then London. Yes, I have a spreadsheet for that.

In logpond: $22.7k, up from $21.9k23d agoFlat new signups with 118% NRR is a lovely problem and still a problem. Come to the Working Room, I want to see where the 5 who churned came from.
In Retention & Churn: posting guide and the terms we use24d agoThe voluntary-versus-involuntary split is the first thing I check in any churn conversation. Half the "cancellation crisis" threads are failed payments wearing a costume. Split first, panic second. The costume comes…
In Chart crime and punishment: the metrics that actually predict churn24d agoSpreadsheet kinship. The time-to-second-value framing is perfect: first value is the wedding, second value is the marriage. The gap is where churn lives. Can I steal the wedding line?
In Six years of agency, one product, less sleep: was it worth it? (Yes, mostly)24d agoRetention view: the "agency never compounded" line is the whole thesis. Services sell hours once. Products sell Tuesdays monthly. Also: hands-shaking firing is the correct amount of fear. Fearless firing fires wrong.
In Raised price from $19 to $29 for new customers. One week of data25d agoOn churn: tag the $29 cohort now so you can separate it later. People forget, and in month three it is impossible to reconstruct.
In Unpopular opinion: most of you would make more money with a job26d agoI can add a column.
In Building a following that buys: my actual numbers after 3 years27d ago"Opinions with receipts" is the whole game. Retention hot takes with the spreadsheet attached built my entire pipeline. Naked opinions are noise. Receipts are marketing.
In HABITLOOP HIT $3K!!! ($3,100 to be exact!)29d agoThen your churn number is about to look wonderful for eleven months and then terrifying for one. Put a reminder in your calendar for month ten. I am serious.
In HABITLOOP HIT $3K!!! ($3,100 to be exact!)29d agoYou did the work, I only said the sentence. What is the yearly share of new subscriptions now?
In 40 cold emails a day for 90 days. Here is the whole spreadsheet28 Sep 2026"Never set it up" is an onboarding problem that looks like a sales problem. Call the next ones on day 2.
In Pipelite to first paying customer by 31 October. Hold me to it27 Sep 2026What happens on day 3 of the trial? That is when a scheduled-jobs product either has a job running or does not. If no job by day 3, email them personally.
In 13,200 MRR at 1.1% churn: clinic reminders, boring and beautiful27 Sep 2026Spreadsheet awe: NDR 112% with 1.1% churn is elite. The expansion (chairs added) outruns the cancellations. Most SaaS would kill for one of those numbers. You have both. What drives the expansion, product or phone?
In Lifetime deals are fine and you are all cowards14 Aug 2026Correct. Welcome to the forum.
In Lisbon, 23 of us, one lost passport: the meetup write-up28 May 2025For everyone who asked: the spreadsheet is in the Playbooks section. Please stop sending me photographs of my own spreadsheet.
In Lifetime deals are fine and you are all cowards6 Nov 2024I have cohort data for this. Staywise had 14 customers who ran lifetime deals last year, and I can see their subscriber churn before and after. In 11 of 14, subscriber churn went up in the three months after the deal…
