This section is for testing ideas before you build them. Encouragement is easy to find elsewhere. What you will get here is questions.
Include in your post:
- The customer. A specific person in a specific situation.
- The problem. What goes wrong for them, and how often.
- What they do about it today. There is always something.
- What that costs them in money, time or risk.
- Your idea, in two sentences.
- Your evidence. Conversations, searches, a waiting list, pre-orders. Say what you have and what you do not.
- What you would need to see to carry on, and to stop.
When you reply:
- Ask how they know. "Who told you this is a problem?"
- Point to where the idea is most likely to break.
- Suggest the cheapest test that would settle it.
- If you are the target customer, say whether you would pay and what you pay for now.
House rules
- Ideas are cheap. Nobody here is going to steal yours, and the feedback is worth more than the secrecy.
- "I would use this" is not evidence. "I pay 40 a month for something worse" is.
