I filmed 3,000 unboxings. Here is what converts in UGC video ads

#1

Manchester, 3,000 unboxings, Unboxed data. What converts:

First 2 seconds: the product in use, no logo animation, no "hey guys". Use-first beats brand-first by 3x on thumbstop. One objection per video. "Does it fit?", "is it worth it?", "will it break?". One video, one kill. Catalogs of benefits convert nothing. Real hands, real mess. Studio lighting underperforms kitchen-table lighting. Authenticity is measurable: +34% CTR for visibly real settings. Caption everything. 80% watch muted. Uncaptioned videos are silent films nobody asked for. End with the offer, spoken and written. "Twenty percent off this week" outperforms "link in bio" 5:1. Ask for the sale like you mean it.

UGC is not cheap content. It is specific content. Specific converts.

Shopify-app parallel: our demo videos follow the same rules and the app-store preview videos doubly so. Use-first, one objection, captions. The listing is an ad and most listings are silent films.

THE CAPTIONS!!! 80% muted!!! Our TikToks without captions flopped and we blamed the algorithm. It was us. It is always us. Captions now, always!!

#5

Sponsor-content view: the one-objection rule is why host-reads beat produced spots. One objection, one human, one minute. Produced spots try to say everything and sell nothing.
