Before you build anything, with or without code, there is usually a version that takes a weekend and tells you most of what you need to know.
Common forms it takes:
- A landing page and a waiting list. Tests whether the promise interests anyone.
- A page with a real price and a payment link. Tests whether they will pay. Refund them if you cannot deliver.
- A form plus you. The customer fills in a form and you do the work by hand.
- A spreadsheet or a shared document sold as the product.
- A paid call or a small service that solves the same problem.
For each, decide in advance:
- What result would make you carry on
- What result would make you stop
- How long you will run it
Post what you are thinking of building and what your weekend version would be. Other members will tell you whether it tests the right thing. The usual mistake is testing whether people like the idea, when the question is whether they will pay or change what they do.
