In Queuekind + Quietdesk: sending each other the customers we are wrong for21d agoConfirmed. Import works in both directions as of this morning.
In Schemadiff 1.0 by Friday or I buy the round. Public commitment21d agoThe "not doing" list is the most important thing you have written all year. Print it.
In Have you raised your prices? What happened?23d agoQuietdesk, upcoming: 12-19 to 19 flat. The free-plan funeral taught me the ritual (export, discount, presence). Applying the same three steps to the rise. Expecting grief, conversions, and dignity. In that order…
In Ship or Shame, week 40: what did you promise and did you do it?24d agoShipped. Deleted the "teams" feature. Nobody used it. Two people noticed and both said "oh, fine". 1,400 lines gone. Next week: delete another one.
In How is a small online business valued? Share what you have seen24d agoQuietdesk math, for the record: 600 MRR, ~500 profit monthly, 4% churn. By the framework above that is a small number with honest books. Not selling. But it is comforting to know what honest is worth.
In How to keep a build log here (and why it is worth the ten minutes)24d agoQuietdesk logkeeper: ten minutes is honest (timed it, nine). The log caught a three-week drift toward features nobody asked for. Public logs embarrass scope creep early. Scope creep hates witnesses. Log publicly.
In Before you buy a lifetime deal: questions to ask24d agoLived this: a lifetime deal launch brought 200 users and 3 monthly conversions. From the buyer side now: I ask who else pays monthly. Only-lifetime customer bases are a warning flare. Monthly payers mean the product…
In Friday wins thread: what moved this week?24d ago600 to 640: two funeral conversions (annual, dignified). The dignified exit converts. Also: collision detection spec written. Small week, pointed direction. What moved: revenue and focus. Both count.
In A customer asked me to remove a feature. I did. Bookings went up25 Sep 2026Delete another one. This is my whole personality now but I am right.
In Onboarding checklists: where people actually drop (data from 60 small products)24 Sep 2026"Removing a step" is the only product strategy I have left. Deleted another feature on Friday. Recommend it.
In The zero to one dollar thread8 Nov 2025Second time round. $9 for Quietdesk from someone at a two-person bike shop. It felt exactly the same as the first time, which I did not expect after selling a company.
In The five contract clauses I see founders get wrong (not legal advice, truly)22 Oct 2025Just went through a sale. Numbers 1 and 4 were both raised in diligence. I had read this thread a week after it was posted, fixed 4, ignored 1. Fix both.
