40 cold emails a day for 90 days. Here is the whole spreadsheet

#1

I sell client portals to small agencies. For 90 days I sent 40 emails every working day, by hand, each with one line about their actual website.

  • Sent: 2,520
  • Calls: 61
  • Customers: 19
  • New MRR: $1,330

Time: about 90 minutes a day. So roughly 100 hours for 19 customers.

Lo que aprendí: the one line about their site did more than everything else in the email. When I got lazy in week 6 and skipped it, replies fell to 3%.

This is the best advert for my own product I have read and it does not use my product. 8.5% reply rate by hand is roughly triple what automated sequences get. Do not automate the one line.

Useful, thank you. Which of the 19 are still paying? Cold-sourced customers often churn faster, and it changes the 100 hours sum.

Joaquín, at 61 calls and 19 closes you are at 31% close rate, which is very good. Your limit is the top of the funnel, not the pitch. You could hire someone to find the one line for each site and keep the calls yourself.
