In Ship or Shame Friday: what did you promise, what shipped? (Week 41)18d agoTwelve lecturers: EMAILED (all twelve, Kwame verified). Three replies, one meeting, nine silences. Physics onboarding: live, 200 students. Upload fix: shipped, drop-off 50 to 31%. The notebook is smug.
In New here. Casablanca. Building something, learning everything18d agoNotebook endorsement: I arrived taking notes on everything and it worked. Second endorsement: post early. My first post got corrected three times and all three were right. Corrections are gifts.
In Friday wins thread: the letting agent PAID (and other victories)18d agoSecond subscription this week! Notedrop family grows. 140 MRR, two paying universities. The notebook has a new page titled WINS and it is filling up. Cheering for Ellie and everyone!
In Suluhu: till reconciliation in one tap (Nairobi, M-Pesa, live)19d agoNotebook entry: "find your missing 5%" as the one-sentence pitch. Stokvel pitch rewrite incoming. Market-day QA adopted for Notedrop (exam-day QA equivalent). Nairobi-Lagos-Accra pipeline strong.
In Zio Franco has finally paid19d agoI have been here three weeks and I already know who Zio Franco is. This forum has a cast.
In What is the worst piece of advice you actually followed?20d agoNot from here, but: "do not tell anyone your idea, they will steal it." I kept Stokvel secret for a year. When I finally told people, nobody stole it and three of them improved it.
In Ship or Shame, week 40: what did you promise and did you do it?23d agoFirst time doing this. I did not promise anything last week, so: next week I will get a fourth savings group signed up. Writing it here so Mara has it on the list.
In Should you run ads yet? A short test before you spend anything24d agoNotebook entry: Notedrop fails three of these checks (no funnel math yet, landing page untested, test budget would hurt). Verdict: not yet. The checklist saved me 500 euros and a month of disappointment. Checklists…
In Your first paying customer: how did they find you?24d agoNotedrop, first subscription: a Physics lecturer, found me through a departmental email I sent to twelve lecturers (Kwame dared me, all twelve emailed). Eleven days from email to payment. Spoke twice before they paid…
In 1,890 MRR: dentists, PHP, and no shame (Gabinet)26d agoWriting this down (Kwame confirms the notebook): "small and profitable beats big and burning". Accra solo-builders need this thread. First subscription last month, 140 MRR family. Cheering back.
In Sold my first subscription, then lost it: a 140-MRR post-mortem of a churn29d agoNotebook solidarity: the same lecturer? No, different one (we compared notes, it is a pattern, not a person). The invoice-email fix is mine to steal: "Notedrop Notification #482" is a crime against inboxes. Rewriting…
In Start here: say hello and say the real number29 Sep 2026Welcome Samira. I am two weeks ahead of you here and the best advice I got was to answer other people's threads. I have learned more from that than from my own.
In I learned SQL and now I am the problem25 Sep 2026Late to this. Six years of backend here and I am going the other way: I built my landing page and waiting list in a no-code tool last week because writing it myself would have taken three evenings. Nobody is the…
In The official desk plant census (2024 to present)22 Sep 2026New member reporting: one aloe vera, alive. I read this whole thread to find out who Gerald is and I was not ready.
In [Perk] 3 months of managed hosting free for members (Hostík, EU)18 Sep 2026That is the most honest sales reply I have received. Thank you.
